Most feared by humans; it is second only to the Great White and reaches a length of 18 feet (5.5 metres) and can weigh up to 2,200 pounds. They are solitary creatures, as well as nomadic, who can travel up to 50 miles in one day. They are thought to live for 30 to 40 years. The Tiger shark is found in temperate and tropical seas most commonly along the coasts of South Africa, the Philippines, Australia, the Indian and Pacific Oceans, and in the Caribbean waters.

Makos are sharks that are incredibly fast swimmers and can also leap out of the water. The warm muscles help the mako swim faster, reaching speeds up to 60 mph. Mako sharks reach a maximum length up to 12.5 feet and may weigh as much as 1,000 pounds. Makos eat schooling fish including tuna, herring, mackerel, swordfish, and porpoise. They are opportunistic feeders, eating just about anything. Despite their ferocious looks, they are not known to attack people.
